Network Operations Engineer

Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing standard operational procedures for the operation of a large scale (1M+ devices) multi-media carrier grade (5 9’s availability) service enabled network.  The position will evolve into the oversight of the network operations team, overseeing personnel across various functional areas including network operations/monitoring, outage detection / recovery, Tier 1- 2, support, customer service, and network operational analysis. The position requires tightly controlled management across all functions adhering to a well define operational model and will be responsible for establishing performance metric goals/objectives (availability, service levels, etc.).

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5 + years of experience within a carrier operations team with excellent understanding of key technologies: (IP, Ethernet, TLS, SIP, etc…), network architectures, and operational procedures.
• Experience with OSS/BSS systems including network management systems, billing systems, CRM, order entry, data mining, etc.
• Trouble shooting experience in large scale data networks
• Must have a high level of technical knowledge and the ability to handle multiple detail-oriented strategic projects simultaneously in an organized manner.
• The right individual must be very personable, approachable and patient with our customers and interal organizations.
• Must have good writing skills and possess effective and strong presentation skills.
• Must have a sufficient understanding of the carrier market from a vendor or carrier perspective. The ideal background is a candidate who worked for an service provider.
• Bachelors and/or Masters in engineering field
